After becoming RG146 compliant, I have been very proud of myself. Not only am I able to help those who desperately require financial advice on their aspirations, I am also provided with an opportunity to enhance my career and improve myself as a financial planner.
All I needed to do to become an accredited financial planner was to obtain a diploma of financial services of financial planning. I achieved this by attending a training course offered by a registered training organisation. The course consisted of 8 days and was conducted within a classroom environment. I also had the option of doing this via distance, which involved me doing the course in my own time.
The RG 146 in the form of the Diploma of Financial Services is also a requirement of the ASIC or Australian Securities and Investments Commission. Before becoming a financial planner, I need to have the basic knowledge and skills about finance services. If you have the diploma, your clients can be assured that you are really competent in the area you are specializing in.
I was really please to have achieved such a beneficial study in such little time which will benefit so many people as well as myself.
